Singer-songwriter Daniel Lima released the single “Be Happy Now” this Thursday, the 2nd. The track will be part of his new EP, which will be released in 2022 by the ForMusic Records . The song is a folk ballad, in which Daniel adds a special rock touch, marking the second single from the project – listen here to the first single, “All The Same”, inspired by George Harrison.
“I definitely don’t see myself as a composer of happy songs. I tend to be drawn to songs considered sad, melancholic, that can make you cry but can also bring about a cathartic relief,” reflects Daniel. In this new single, the cathartic feeling of his compositions is still present, but in a more optimistic way: “It’s simple and direct, perfect for a moment around the campfire, delicately shouting for happiness right there, now, banishing anything that might threaten this fulfillment.”
According to the singer, the song emerged from a prolific period of songwriting in early 2021: “It was almost a song a day, studying languages, testing paths, seeking to recognize myself and recognize on paper and in the strings all the feelings that were inside me. Most of them came from a darker place, but in some songs I found a glimmer of light. A chance for redemption.”
