Papa Roach 's music is easily recognizable by its explosive sound. Although they have recorded acoustic versions of songs from their repertoire, the band has never released an acoustic ballad on any of their 10 albums – something that should change soon.
In an interview with Radio.com (via Loudwire) , frontman Jacoby Shaddix gave information about the group's upcoming album. All members spent a month in collective isolation to work on the new project and had "a good experience of connection" during that period.
“[The compositions] are mature, but then a certain irresponsible idleness emerges. There’s this duality in the styles,” Shaddix said. “We have the first acoustic ballad we’ve ever done. And it’s not a ballad like, ‘Oh darling, my little love, baby.’ It’s a song that grabs you by the heartstrings and plays with you.”.
To give a little more insight into the outcome of this song, the vocalist described it as "a super dynamic rock song" and expressed confidence in the result: "I think it's going to blow people's minds.".
Papa Roach has just released a compilation of the group's greatest hits and does not intend to release a new album until 2022 , a decision motivated by the current global situation, which makes touring impossible.
