O festival Crossroads Guitar de Eric Clapton chegou à sua quinta edição ano passado após um hiato de seis anos e contou com a participação de grandes nomes da música como John Mayer, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., James Bay, Peter Frampton e Buddy Guy, entre outros.
O evento aconteceu no American Airlines Center em Dallas, no Texas, durante dois dias para ajudar a arrecadar dinheiro para o Crossroads Centre em Antigua, a unidade de tratamento e educação para dependência química que Clapton fundou em 1998.
Agora, Clapton irá transformar a apresentação em um DVD de quatro horas com os destaques do evento e disponibilizar em diversos formatos físicos: CD triplo, 6 LPs, DVD duplo e Blu-ray. Nele terá apresentações como “Layla” de Eric Clapton com a participação de John Mayer, versões de “Wonderful Tonight” e “Lay Down Sally” com Andy Fairweather Low. Clapton também prestou homenagem a seu falecido amigo George Harrison com uma versão de “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” com Peter Frampton.
Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 será lançado no dia 20 de novembro, também na versão digital, e para celebrar o anúncio foi disponibilizado a apresentação de “Goodbye Caroline” de The Marcus King Band.
