The members of Talking Heads don't seem very interested in returning to the stage with their former bandmates. According to the American magazine Billboard , the musicians have already refused several reunion offers.
The band was even considered for Coachella . The festival's curator, Paul Tollet – who brought No Doubt and Sublime as headliners – went to Canada to meet with the group and propose a reunion. However, the band rejected the offer of approximately 10 million dollars.
A few months later, Talking Heads also received an offer from the influential event production company Live Nation. The $80 million offer was for approximately eight headlining shows at major festivals. The musicians also rejected the proposal.
Reunion of the band members and tribute album.
The group's last performance – consisting of David Byrne , Tina Weymouth , Jerry Harrison , and Chris Frantz – took place more than 20 years ago, when the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
Last year, the original members of Talking Heads broke their hiatus of more than two decades by appearing together at the Toronto International Film Festival. The reason behind this special reunion was the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the acclaimed concert film Stop Making Sense , now restored in 4K by A24 .
In addition to the cinematic restoration, A24 also announced the release of a tribute album to the classic 1984 Stop Making Sense
So far, Paramore 's cover of "Burning Down the House" is the only taste revealed of what's to come. However, the list of contributing artists to the LP is surprising, including The National , Lorde , Miley Cyrus , BADBADNOTGOOD , and other prominent talents.
