Rare recordings from 1985 from Soundgarden show Chris Cornell on drums

Titled '6 Songs for Bruce', the demo features the trio Kim Thayil, Hiro Yamamoto, and Chris Cornell in the early days of the group

Rare recordings from Soundgarden have been found and released to fans. In them, we can hear Chris Cornell , the group's leader and founder, on drums and vocals.

Titled 6 Songs for Bruce , the tape is one of the group's earliest demos, which at the time consisted of Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil , and bassist Hiro Yamamoto . The trio recorded the demo on April 24, 1985, in Jack Endino with the help of Bruce Pavitt .

The demo features a rare early version of "Tears to Forget" with Yamamoto on vocals, as well as "The Storm," a solo track by Cornell. Also included on this recording is "Incessant Mace," featuring the legendary founder on drums and vocals. The B-side of the tape, titled Zen Deity Speaks , is blank.
