Ozzy Osbourne revealed he has Parkinson's disease during an interview on Good Morning America . "I'm not good at keeping secrets. I can't go around hiding it because it would be like running away from giving explanations," he said.

The Prince of Darkness discovered his diagnosis some time ago, and today he reveals that he needs to take medication for nerve pain resulting from the illness. During an interview with presenter Robin Roberts , the singer's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne , cried while discussing the situation.

“There are several different types of Parkinson's. It's not a death sentence, as some people imagine, but it affects certain nerves in your body. It's like having a good day, another good day, and then a really bad day.”

The musician also spoke about the serious fall he suffered in 2019 and the neck surgery that left significant after-effects. Ozzy is still unsure about the effects of the illness and reveals that he will consult with specialists to understand it better.

“It’s been a terrible challenge for all of us. I did my last show on New Year’s Eve, then I had a horrible fall. I had to have neck surgery, which destroyed all my nerves. I’ve had numbness in one arm since the surgery and my legs get cold every day. You don’t know if it’s from Parkinson’s or not, but that’s the problem. They cut my nerves when they did the surgery.”

Also in an interview with Good Morning America , Ozzy's daughter, Kelly , spoke about the difficulty of seeing her father suffer: “The hardest part is seeing someone you love suffer. We need to be honest about what's going on and take the time to get everyone on the same page.”

Throughout the interview, Ozzy and his family stressed that being in the studio and on the road is incredibly beneficial for the Prince of Darkness, and therefore the plans will not be postponed again. "I want to see my people, my fans," Ozzy said emotionally.

The new album, Ordinary Man , which features a collaboration with Elton John and guitar solos by Slash , is scheduled for release on February 21st.
