A few weeks after the release of his new album, Patient Number 9 , Ozzy Osbourne released the first of three parts of a mini-documentary about the recording of the album.

The first episode of When Ozzy Calls was directed by Jack Osbourne and features excerpts from interviews with Ozzy and some of the musicians involved in the album, such as Chad Smith , Zakk Wylde , Duff McKagan , and producer Andrew Watt .

During interviews, Watt explains that each musician who worked on Patient Number 9 was chosen specifically for each of the songs being made, and jokes about how easy it was to bring together so many big names on a single project: “The worst that can happen is someone says no, but nobody says no to Ozzy. They love Ozzy.”

During a segment of the episode, the producer and the singer also discuss the introduction to the title track , where Ozzy plays a patient in a psychiatric ward and shouts things like "I want to go home" and "Mom!". The latter, according to Sharon Osbourne, was a reference to her and not to Osbourne's mother.

According to Watts, the entire introduction was recorded impromptu in a single take, with Ozzy Osbourne spontaneously getting into character. Check out the full episode in English without subtitles:
