Liam Gallagher doesn't usually shy away from controversy . On Tuesday afternoon, the 23rd, the musician responded to criticism made by singer Dua Lipa directed at 90s Britpop bands. Responding to a fan's comment on X , formerly Twitter, Liam stated that "she's just jealous".
Dua Lipa's statement was made in an interview with Rolling Stone last week, in which she stated that her new album will feature musical influences from British rock bands like Oasis and Blur – but not from the sometimes "detestable" attitude of its members.
During the conversation, the singer was asked about the temperament of prominent figures in the movement, such as the Gallagher brothers and Damon Albarn . She shared that, although she had never met them personally, "sometimes it's necessary to distinguish the person from the art."
Dua Lipa added: “It’s more like the music element, the aspect I’m really connected to. The way [some Britpop artists] acted, the things they did, they’re unpleasant for sure. But that’s their thing.”
Gallagher's reaction generated even more discussion on the matter, but the former Oasis frontman decided not to comment further on the situation.
