David Byrne , former lead singer of Talking Heads Olivia Rodrigo 's show last Saturday, the 7th, at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York.
Near the end of the show, the pop rock star invited David Byrne to sing the classic "Burning Down the House" together.
The performance, which brought together two generations of rock, garnered applause and euphoria from the audience. This was especially true when Olivia and David performed the choreography for the song, created by Byrne for the Stop Making Sense in 1984. The iconic concert was recently re-released in cinemas after a 4K restoration. The footage quickly spread across social media.
Olivia commented on social media: “I can’t believe I sang with one of the greatest of all time, David Byrne, I’ll remember this forever!”. The former Talking Heads vocalist also commented: “Fun night with Olivia Rodrigo and her amazing band”.
However, this is not the first collaboration between David Byrne and Olivia Rodrigo; the two performed together at the end of last year. Byrne participated in Olivia's New Year's Eve special at Madison Square Garden.

Previously, last Thursday, June 5th, Talking Heads released the official music video for the song "Psycho Killer," starring actress Saoirse Ronan. The production marked 50 years since the band's first live performance.
Released on their debut album Talking Heads: 77 , "Psycho Killer" became the group's first single to impact the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2024, the production company A24 released Everyone's Getting Involved: A Tribute To Stop Making Sense , a tribute album to the band featuring covers of songs by artists from newer generations.
Despite numerous lucrative offers, the members of Talking Heads aren't very interested in returning to the stage with their former bandmates. According to the American magazine Billboard , the musicians have already refused several reunion offers, not only from Coachella, but also from the production company Live Nation.
The group's last performance – consisting of David Byrne, Tina Weymouth , Jerry Harrison , and Chris Frantz – took place more than 20 years ago, when the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
