About Daniel Fonseca
At just 13 years old, Daniel Fonseca began studying guitar and quickly learned to play with technique and speed, as well as composing songs ready to be recorded. After joining Kiko Loureiro's mentorship program, the young man gained extra attention for his talent and prodigious nature. "The pandemic gave me more time to do what I love, which is playing guitar and composing. In-person classes at school left less free time for that, and I delved deeper and deeper into the instrument," said Fonseca.
With musical characteristics in diverse areas, Daniel Fonseca's main influences are Yngwie Malmsteen, Rainbow, Bach, Paganini, Zakk Wylde, Megadeth, Marty Friedman, Kiko Loureiro, Allan Holdsworth, Genesis, Dio, Deep Purple, Supertramp, among others.
Regarding Daniel Fonseca, Kiko Loureiro comments: “I met Daniel Fonseca through my mentorship program, and he surprised me quite a bit. The curious thing is that he's a young guitarist, but with influences from guitarists of the seventies and eighties, which is quite something new in today's world. The fact that he learned to play very quickly made me believe he had talent for composing. With that, he demonstrated a very important focus.”
