Ratos de Porão usually comes in with a bang – and it was no different with "Aglomeração," the first single from the band's new album, called Necropolítica, set for release in May of this year.
Composed by João Gordo , the lyrics paint a picture of how faith and denialist policies were used to manipulate public opinion during the coronavirus pandemic, harshly criticizing religious leaders who abuse their power to profit and turn the country into a kind of "Evangelical-state," as well as the lack of commitment to science on the part of the Brazilian government in recent years.
The band celebrated 40 years in the music industry in 2021 and has now announced their first album of new material since Século Sinistro (2014). Necropolítica will be released on May 13th by Shinigami Records and will be available on vinyl and physical CD. See the cover art below.
