The American band Guns N' Roses has been included in the new list of honorees for the 2024 Grammy Hall of Fame. The album that received the honors was Appetite For Destruction , which turns 37 this July. The list is in its 50th edition and was released last Wednesday, the 25th, including nine other big names in music.
Guns N' Roses makes the list with their debut album, released in 1987. The album features 12 songs, was released under the Geffen Records label, and achieved prominent positions on the charts. Appetite For Destruction includes hugely successful singles from the band, such as the iconic "Welcome to the Jungle," the memorable "Sweet Child o' Mine" with its guitar solo, and the intense "Paradise City."
“It’s a privilege to welcome these new additions to our distinguished catalog and celebrate the recordings at our inaugural gala on May 21,” said Michael Sticka, CEO of the GRAMMY Museum. The 2024 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala takes place on May 21 and is the first of what will be an annual celebration, complete with a red carpet and VIP reception (via GRAMMY Awards ).
The Grammy Hall of Fame is a parallel tribute to the Grammy Awards, which began in 1973, and aims to honor albums and singles that have been released more than 25 years ago. In addition to *Appetite for Destruction *, four other albums and six singles were included in this year's list, which now totals 2,024 recordings . Among them are: Buena Vista Social Club , Charley Pride , De La Soul , Donna Summer, The Doobie Brothers, Kid Ory's Creole Orchestra, Wanda Jackson , and William Bell .
