Uruguayan comic book artist Romina Poses band Slayer .

The first episode is called Seasons in the Abyss (Vacaciones en El Abismo) (Vacation in the Abyss, in a free translation) and was released on December 21, 2020. The main characters are Tom and Charlie headbanger friends who love heavy metal, beer, and concerts.

In the comic book, the duo planned to go to Wacken Open Air to watch the last performance of the band Slasher (a reference to the band Slayer), but end up getting into an accident and encountering the King of Hell, Lucifer. After this, the saga of the two friends begins as they try to escape the depths of hell and attend the band's final performance.

“The purpose of the comic is to pay tribute to bands, musicians – whether they are alive or not – and to heavy metal culture in general. Of course, I couldn't leave out references to films, books, and video games that I love,” the comic artist said in a statement released to the press.

The physical version in Spanish is available in the online store, and the English and Portuguese versions are only available digitally and can be downloaded from this link for a nominal fee.

Romina Poses published the book under the pseudonym Heretic Princess and shares parts of the creative process on social media. Check out the project's Facebook and Instagram pages
