Toni Cornell , daughter of the legendary and late musician Chris Cornell , announced this Thursday, the 14th, her debut work, "Sunset Of Your Love". The single will be available for listening on November 21st, but it is already possible to pre-save it through the website announced by the artist.
The singer, only 20 years old, used her official Instagram profile to make the announcement. The video she shared includes footage from the recording and a snippet of the work. "I'm excited to finally announce the release date of my first song 'Sunset of Your Love'," she wrote.
Dave Hamelin , known for producing Beyoncé and for the band The Stills , is producing "Sunset Of Your Love." The lyrics were written by Toni in collaboration with Mozella .
Toni Cornell's young career
Despite promoting "Sunset Of Your Love" as her debut work, this is not the first project released by the artist.
In 2018, at age 15, Toni released a version of Prince , "Nothing Compares To You," immortalized in the voices of names like Sinead O'Connor and Chris Cornell himself. The following year, the artist shared her first original work, "Far Away Places," produced by her father.
The singer has given numerous performances in recent years, including a rendition of Leonard Cohen with the band One Republic in tribute to her father and former Linkin Park Chester Bennington . In 2021, she became the youngest ambassador for the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an NGO founded by Albert Einstein .
