Araya talks about communication in the band
In an interview with Billboard, Slayer vocalist Tom Araya spoke about the possibility of a new album from the band. According to Araya, the members haven't discussed a new project yet
“We’re not the kind of band that releases an album every year, not since the 80s when we released “Reign In Blood”, “South Of Heaven” and “Seasons in the Abyss”. We like to work hard on the material to make sure we’re happy before anyone says ‘let’s release an album’. And now we don’t have Jeff anymore, so there’s a lot of work left for Kerry; he needs time after the tour to work on ideas, gather things and test them. So we haven’t even talked about it yet.”.
Araya also said that a significant change that has occurred in Slayer is the communication between the members, since Jeff Hanneman's illness:
“Kerry and I are doing something we’ve never done before, which is talking. Normally we didn’t communicate. When it came to Slayer, everyone said what they thought and there was a majority rule, and whatever was decided was final. I would say that in recent years we’ve really connected and talked about things, and since Jeff passed away, Kerry and I have continued the dialogue.”.
