Tom Araya talks about the absence of Jeff Hanneman.

Hanneman passed away in 2013.

In an interview with the Chilean website Futuro, Slayer bassist and vocalist Tom Araya spoke about how much he misses his bandmate Jeff Hanneman, who passed away in 2013.

Araya spoke about Hanneman when asked about Slayer's future plans, and whether the band plans to release a new album:

“I don’t know, when we made the album we had a lot of songs left over. When we make the next one we have to talk about that. But Kerry and I are still putting the finishing touches on the business aspects, regarding the band. Because of Jeff’s death we still don’t have everything resolved, we’re still working on it. We’ll see how things go.”

Araya was then asked how he feels as the four-year anniversary of Hanneman's death approaches:

“I miss him. I think about him all the time. We were collaborators. We worked together… He allowed me to work with him on his ideas. I think about everything he went through in his last two years. I wish he were with us. I wish he were here, period. I feel he was a big part of the band. I wish he were here, he would make everything easier.”
