Slayer will release a vinyl box set of the album Repentless

The new Slayer box set will be released on June 6th

Slayer will release a collector's box set of the album Repentless , which includes 6 discs of the band's latest album, on 6.66-inch vinyl, in black, red and gold colors.

Repentless was the first album released after the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013, who died from cirrhosis.

The band recently announced that they are saying goodbye to the stage. Their final tour will begin in May and will feature Anthrax, Testament, Lamb Of God, and Behemoth.

Slayer bassist and vocalist Tom Araya spoke about his retirement in a 2016 interview with Loudwire. He said, “After 35 years, it’s time to charge my retirement. [Laughs] This is a career change.” He continued, “I’m grateful that we’ve been around for 35 years, that’s a long time. When we started, everything was great because you’re young and then I became a family man, and I had a hard time, but now, at this stage, at the level we’re at now, I can do this, I can fly home when I want, on days off, and spend some time with my family, which is something I wasn’t able to do when [my kids] were growing up. Now they’re both older and more mature. So now I take advantage of that.” Araya added, “Yeah, it gets harder and harder to get back on the road. 35 years is a long time.”

Tom also revealed another reason for his diminished enjoyment of touring. He said: “There are things that have happened in my life that have made me change the way I play as a bassist. I had neck surgery, so I can't headbang anymore. And that was a big part of what I enjoyed doing.”
