Slayer: Discover the story behind Kerry King's demonic tattoos

Kerry King has two legendary tattoos

One of the most famous tattoos in the metal world is the "Leaf Man" on the head of Kerry King , from Slayer . He also has a demon tattooed on his left hand.

Loudwire has started a video series with tattoo artist Paul Booth . In the first episode, he tells the stories behind his two tattoos.

The tattoo artist grew up being a huge Slayer fan and dreamed of tattooing a member of the band. "My teacher at the shop where I worked would sometimes leave, and I'd blast Slayer at full volume while I was tattooing."

Booth then began touring and met Kerry King. The two became friends, and the day came when King asked Booth to tattoo him. The guitarist chose the "Leaf Man" and wanted the face to look at people when King had his back turned.

“I can say, not just because we’re friends, but he stood there with a rock,” Booth said. “More than the others, actually. I think it took him about four hours to finish. He got through without a problem,” Booth recalled.

As for the hand, Paul tattooed devil horns on King's index and pinky fingers. The face in the tattoo can be seen as Christ or as a demon. It depends on the angle from which you look at it.
