King and Araya talk about their former drummer
Slayer members Kerry King and Tom Araya spoke in an interview with Metal Hammer about the possibility of drummer Dave Lombardo returning to the band.
Asked if the doors of Slayer are closed forever to Lombardo, King replied: “I imagine so. I learn a lot every day and one of the things I’ve learned is never to say never. Because I thought the doors were closed the first time. But are they securely locked now? Yes, I imagine so.”
Araya also spoke about Lombardo: “I hate to say it, but it wasn’t the first time Dave put us in this position. In the end, he waited until we were on the plane to Australia and put our problems on the internet. Something that wasn’t anyone else’s business, it was our problem. We only found out about it 16 hours later. That gives you an idea of what kind of personality he has. If it wasn’t deliberate, it certainly seemed like it.”
Slayer's new album is expected in the second half of this year.
