Slayer performs for the first time in 6 years. The show took place on Thursday, July 3rd, at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff, United Kingdom, and featured performances by the bands: Amon Amarth , Mastodon , Anthrax , and Hatebreed .

According to the website Loudersound , the shows had short and direct setlists, which may not have pleased the fans so much. With gates opening at 5 pm and slow entry, the performances began first with Hatebreed who, in addition to taking the stage 15 minutes after the scheduled time, had their set abruptly interrupted.

Mastodon and Anthrax faced similar fates: very short shows and dissatisfaction with the organization.

Slayer plays a short show focused on classic hits.

Next up was Amon Amarth, who managed to restore some of the excitement of the crowd. Opening with "Guardians Of Asgaard," the show was visually marked by giant statues and jets of fire.

Finally, the legend of thrash metal takes its place. Slayer emerges with "South Of Heaven," showing what they're made of. Without interruption, "Repentless," "Disciple," "Jihad," "War Ensemble," and "Chemical Warfare" followed, setting the place ablaze.

In addition to the usual inverted crosses in flames, the pyrotechnic show was a highlight in itself, while vocalist Tom Araya enthusiastically thanked the audience.

With the event reaching its climax, "Raining Blood," "Black Magic," and "Angel Of Death" close out the highly anticipated return.
