After a hiatus of nearly six years, the iconic thrash metal band Slayer has announced new performances in a series of shows in 2025. The announcement marks Slayer's return to stages in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Highlighting this as one of the most anticipated moments for heavy metal fans, the band will perform at major festivals, including the Festival D'été de Québec in Canada. In addition, they will give further performances at Blackweir Fields and Cardiff in Wales, and at Finsbury Park in London.

In addition to their own shows, Slayer is one of the main attractions at the legendary Back To The Beginning Black Sabbath 's farewell show , in Birmingham, where they will share the lineup with bands like Metallica and Guns N' Roses .

The emotion of Black Sabbath's farewell.

In an interview with Blabbermouth , the members of Slayer revealed their excitement about sharing the stage one last time with the members of Black Sabbath. Bassist and vocalist Tom Araya expressed his admiration for the band. Guitarist Kerry King emphasized the honor of sharing the stage with his heroes.

King, however, reaffirmed that despite these shows, the band does not plan to return to touring or produce new albums. The Slayer founder emphasized that these performances are a celebration for the fans, especially those who haven't had the opportunity to see them before (via Metal Roos ).
