Repentless is from 2015.
In an interview with Revolver magazine, Slayer frontman Kerry King spoke about the band's upcoming release, which will follow their 2015 album, Repentless . King said:
"The funny thing is that 'Repentless' isn't even two years old yet, but it feels longer. But from that session we still have six or eight songs recorded, some with vocals, lead vocals, but all with guitar, bass and drums. So when the lyrics for these songs are done, if the lyrics don't change the songs, they'll be ready for the next album. So we have more than half an album done, if these songs make it onto the album.".
We've never been so prepared for the next album. There's no reason not to make more, because we already have half of it. We just need to write another five new songs, give attention to the others, and we'll be ready. If we have the time, which we will at the end of this year, maybe we can focus on that.”.
Asked if the work could be finished as early as next year, King replied: “It’s possible. But I’m not going to promise anything because every time I promise, I end up being a liar.”
