Slash , the iconic guitarist from Guns N' Roses , revealed in a recent interview that he has no clear memories of his early shows with his blues band due to alcohol abuse.
People magazine , the 58-year-old musician spoke about the time he formed the band Slash's Blues Ball in 1996. The group consisted of Teddy “Big Bag Zig Zag” Andreadis , Johnny Griparic , Alvino Bennet , Bobby Schneck, and Dave McLaurin .
Slash confessed that the blues shows provided a lot of inspiration, but he was too drunk to remember those moments. "It was just for fun. I don't remember any of those shows."
Furthermore, the musician also gave details about the band's origins. "When I met them, some guys were playing in a band called The Screaming Cocktail Hour , it was a great blues band that used to play in small bars in Los Angeles. And I would hang out with them, get there at 10 or 11 pm and play until 2 am."
“I got some other guys and we started doing the same circuit. But then it turned into a real tour, and we did it intermittently for a few years, until we managed to get to Europe,” he added.
