Slash left X after his account was hacked and used to promote the memecoin “GUNS”. He will remain active on TikTok and Instagram. Similar cases have occurred with Metallica.
Last week, the official account of iconic guitarist Slash on the X platform was apparently hacked. The incident generated a great deal of buzz, as several suspicious posts appeared on his profile, promoting cryptocurrencies, most notably one called "GUNS" – a memecoin fans Guns N' Roses.
Faced with the situation, Slash made the difficult decision to permanently step away from the X platform. He informed his fans that he will remain active on other social media platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram, where he promises to maintain a healthier and safer connection.
In a candid post, he explained: “I would like to inform you that I have decided to step away from Twitter/X and will no longer be active on the platform. This was a considered decision following repeated attacks and reflects a change in how I would like to stay connected going forward.”
This incident, unfortunately, is not an isolated one. A similar case happened with the band Metallica, also used by scammers to promote cryptocurrency.
