There are people who truly have music in their veins, regardless of the instrument their legacy leaves behind, and according to Slash , the one who honors this is the legendary Eddie Van Halen .
In an interview with Consequence Of Sound , the artist spared no praise for the legacy his colleague left behind in music, "Whatever instrument he chose to play, he would have been phenomenal, because he only had pure musical talent. And he chose the guitar, but that's because that's what excited him the most."
“And for someone with that kind of musical talent to get excited about a rock 'n' roll guitar was kind of unique in itself, because most of us guitarists are a bunch of rock 'n' rollers who don't have much technical skill or education,” he admits. “We kind of just go with this raw stuff. And he had that, but he also had this kind of classical musical gift (…) So he was just an incredible artist, period,” he states about Van Halen, adding that the artist was “an innovator.”.
