After sharing a snippet of the new song, guitarist Slash announced on his social media that his new single with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators is called "The River Is Rising" and will be released this Friday, October 22nd.
This is the first preview of the supergroup's new album, which has already been completed and will be released in 2022. According to the video posted on Slash's social media, this will be "basically a live album," as Myles Kennedy describes it. The band recorded the guitars, bass, and drums live, all at the same time, as well as Kennedy's vocals.
“It’s basically a live album, in my view,” comments Myles Kennedy. “We’re just trying to document where we are at this moment in our lives and do it in an authentic way.”
Previously, Slash had already commented that the successor to Living The Dream (2018) is probably " the best album we've ever made " and also gave more details about the overall feeling of the album :
“We recorded it in a very old-school way. That being said, without giving too much away, it definitely has a bit of that energy and vibe that many of us listened to in our youth. It was a fun album to make.”
