Last Monday, the 29th, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators gave the first show of The River Is Rising on Brazilian soil. The performance took place at Arena Hall , in Belo Horizonte.

The tour promotes 4 , Slash's fifth solo album and the fourth studio album by Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, which features Myles Kennedy (lead vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass and vocals) and Frank Sidoris (rhythm guitar). In addition to the show in the capital of Minas Gerais, the group will also perform in São Paulo (31), Rio de Janeiro (1) and Porto Alegre (4).

Regarding the choice of location, the organization left much to be desired: there was no adequate signage for the sectors, and many only found out which was the correct line when the gates opened—which happened shortly after 7 pm—causing some fans to switch locations during the rush, generating chaos that could have easily been avoided.

Velvet Chains was tasked with opening the show . The performance, which was scheduled for 8 pm, began about 5 minutes earlier than planned.

Although most people didn't know the songs, the group quickly won over the audience: the vocalist, Lo Viper Elvis Presley 's "Suspicious Minds ," which thrilled the fans.

After the opening act, the venue, which had previously been just under half full, quickly filled up, with the audience counting down the seconds until they could see the legendary guitarist up close.

The clock struck 8 p.m., but it wasn't until two minutes later—which, for the fans, seemed like an eternity—that the band began to enter the stage, one by one, the last being Slash. Upon recognizing the iconic silhouette of the man considered by many to be the greatest guitarist of all time, the audience roared with excitement.

The song that opened the show is the one that gives the tour its name, “The River Is Rising,” which was received with enthusiasm. In addition to that, other highlights of the show—according to the audience's reaction—were “Halo,” “Apocalyptic Love,” “Spirit Love,” “Don't Damn Me,” “Rocket Man” (an Elton John ), and “Anastasia,” the show's final song.

Although Slash was undoubtedly the star of the show, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators delivered a masterclass in virtuosity and stage presence, definitely a treat for anyone who enjoys live music, even if they don't know any of the tracks on the setlist.

Seeing Slash play live is almost a religious experience. His guitar has an explosive tone, and with passion, he bends during his solos while still carrying the melody.

It wasn't hard to look around and see the audience completely mesmerized by his technique. Year after year, Slash establishes himself more and more as one of the most iconic figures not only in rock, but in music.
