Slash is a guitar hero to millions around the world, having influenced new generations of artists worldwide. Even so, he's also a fan and has offered advice on how people should behave around their idols, since he knows both sides of the coin.

“You know, I’m probably just as shocked, if not more shocked, than the average person [when meeting my idols]. And you just have to chill out,” he told 95.5 KLOS (via Ultimate Guitar ) about what it’s like meeting these icons over the years.

Although he also gets a little taken aback when he's with an artist he greatly admires, Slash explained the best way to handle those moments. “You have to stay calm and try not to make anyone uncomfortable by immediately telling them how much influence they have on you. Because I find that annoying. It is for me, because I don't know how to react,” he said.

Recently, a man tried to rush the stage during a Slash concert with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators , but was quickly subdued by the band's security. Watch the video here .
