Red Hot Chili Peppers delivered an energetic performance of their hit song “Can't Stop” during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Californian group was performing live from Los Angeles, representing the transition to the next edition of the Olympic Games, which will take place in the city in 2028.

The song “By The Way” also had a highlight moment during the ceremony. To the sound of the hit, actor Tom Cruise rode a motorcycle down the Champs-Élysées, boarded a plane, and parachuted into the Hollywood sign, which was customized with the Olympic rings. After this cinematic appearance, the scene changed to Venice Beach in Los Angeles, where more performances took place.

In addition to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish , Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre also took part in passing the baton to the United States, performing live from the future host city. Meanwhile, American singer H.E.R. and French artists Phoenix , Air , and Kavinsky performed in Paris, at the Stade de France.
