Musician begins solo tour of the country this week, at Maracanã

Phil Collins was detained by the Federal Police at Galeão, Rio de Janeiro's international airport, upon disembarking there on Tuesday, February 20th.

The reason was the lack of a work visa, which the British singer was required to present to Brazilian authorities. He was released after just over an hour in the Federal Police office.

Collins will give his first solo performance in Brazil this Thursday, the 22nd, at Maracanã, a stadium located in Rio de Janeiro. The Pretenders will be the opening act. Afterwards, the musician will also take the tour to São Paulo — Allianz Parque, on the 24th — and Porto Alegre — Estádio Beira Rio, on the 27th.
