Maraty presents , for the first time in Brazil, two seminal bands of heavy and avant-garde sounds: PETBRICK (England/Brazil) and LIGHTNING BOLT (USA). On Friday, February 23, 2024, the two groups will perform at Carioca Club in São Paulo. Opening for them is another incredible act: the Brazilian duo TEST .
Petbrick is a project that unites drummer Iggor Cavalera ( Cavalera Conspiracy , Mixhell ) and English keyboardist Wayne Adams ( Big Lad , Death Pedals , Johnny Broke ). The duo creates an inimitable industrial-electronic sound with synth textures and broken beats. The duo summarizes their music as: "Horrible noises that melt your head."
Lightning Bolt is a duo formed almost 30 years ago by drummer Brian Chippendale and bassist Brian Gibson . LB has released seven LPs and is considered one of the biggest names in the noise-hardcore-experimental scene worldwide, fusing the heaviness and aggression of punk with the sonic freedom of free jazz and composers like Philip Glass and Sun Ra . Their shows are explosions of pure energy, with the audience actively participating and entering a trance with the duo's transcendent music. In a critics' poll on the Metacritic , Lightning Bolt ranked eighth on the Artists of the Decade list between 2000 and 2009.
This historic night for heavy metal in Brazil will be graced by the presence of the Brazilian band Test, a grindcore duo formed by guitarist/singer João Kombi and drummer Barata . Test is one of the most active groups in the Brazilian underground and began their career playing from a VW Kombi van at the entrance of major metal and punk shows, which made the band famous. With an intense schedule of shows, Test has already completed several international tours and played at important festivals such as Obscene Extreme in the Czech Republic.
