Jimi Hendrix film , which tells his story with Electric Lady Studios , have been announced. Distributor Abramorama announced that the official release of Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision is scheduled for August 9th.

Contemplating the history of the studio's creation, the documentary explores the space from the ruins of a failed Manhattan nightclub to becoming a state-of-the-art recording facility. It also discusses the pioneering spirit and genius of the guitarist. After all, Electric Lady Studios was the first commercial recording studio owned by an artist.

Directed by John McDermott and produced by Janie Hendrix , George Scott , and McDermott , the film features exclusive interviews with Steve Winwood (who joined Hendrix on the first night of recording at the new studio), The Jimi Hendrix Experience Billy Cox , and original members of the studio crew. In addition, it includes never-before-seen footage and photos, as well as tracks from Hendrix classics such as “Freedom,” “Angel,” and “Dolly Dagger.”

The documentary also addresses the continued success of the recording studio, which provides a lasting legacy beyond Hendrix's music. John Lennon , The Clash , David Bowie , Stevie Wonder , Florence and The Machine , Beyoncé , and hundreds of other artists recorded albums at Electric Lady Studios.
