In 1998, Chris Cornell invited Myles Kennedy on an important mission: to sing "My Funny Valentine" at the birthday party of the Soundgarden vocalist's wife.
The opportunity to be alongside an idol didn't come without embarrassment for Kennedy, thanks to a rather lazy habit of the musician that was revealed during rehearsals for the duet.
Rick Beato 's channel , the Alter Bridge recalled the occasion. “Well, it was a wonderful experience, but it showed how dependent I've become on tuners, like so many of us [musicians]. I had forgotten to tune my instrument and was going to accompany the music while we sang,” he narrated. “I remember I was with my guitar, we were getting ready for rehearsal in the attic and I was trying to find the tuning. But I was nervous! I was sitting next to one of the greatest singers in the world. He finally said, 'Hey, let me do this.' I was devastated, it was stressful.”
