Long before becoming the lead singer of Alter Bridge and working with Slash, Myles Kennedy had a cameo in the movie Rock Star , starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston , in a role that seemed prophetic about his career.

In the film, store clerk Chris Cole dreams of being part of the band Steel Dragon and gets the opportunity after the group's vocalist leaves. Kennedy's participation comes in the final scene, as a big fan of the band. He is one of the most enthusiastic in the audience and quickly catches Cole's attention, who has already decided to leave the band. The idol invites the young man to take over the group's vocals, just as happened to him.

“I’ve thought about it a few times [about] how prophetic that movie was for my own career, it’s fascinating,” Kennedy in an interview with Appetite for Distortion (via Ultimate Guitar) . “Interestingly, with the solo projects, it’s like at the end of the movie, when he discovers he wants to make his music alone. So everything is there, the difference is that I didn’t have to leave the band to do the same. I can maintain all three.”

Released in 2001, the film was a positive experience in the vocalist's career. "And I had no idea what would happen when everything was finished, I had no idea the film would become a kind of cult classic," he continued. "Seeing how some things in the film reflected where my life would go, playing with these heavyweights, is really fascinating and very, very interesting. So, you never know where life will take you."
