During an appearance on The Jasta Show , Myles Kennedy talked about Slash Alter Bridge bandmate , Mark Tremonti .
Currently, Kennedy is promoting a new solo album, titled The Ides of March .
In the interview, he was asked what Slash is good at, something that would surprise fans and listeners. “It’s his knowledge of reptiles and dinosaurs, it’s mind-blowing. We went to this museum in Alberta… In Alberta, there’s a lot of dinosaur history, so the museum had all these dinosaur bones. They gave us a cool behind-the-scenes tour of the museum.”
Myles Kennedy stated that Slash knew as much as, or even more than, the museum's expert employee they visited, to the point of practically giving him a lesson.
“And that person who was guiding us was even looking at him like, ‘What’s going on here?’”, he added. “He just knew all the names, he knew when they were on the planet, he knew what they ate…”.
Kennedy once joked with Slash, saying it would be interesting if he had a television show about it. "I could call it Jurassic Slash or something. That would be cool, I'd watch it," he stated.
“That’s one of his many talents. He’s also very cultured, reads a lot of books, he’s a really avid reader,” he said. He also stated that the guitarist is athletic and enjoyed BMX (bicycle motocross), but that he doesn’t know if he likes soccer or baseball.
He also mentioned how his bandmate Mark Tremonti is competitive and can play anything. “Tremonti is really competitive. With Tremonti, if you get him to start playing ping-pong, he’ll really get into it and be very good at it.”
