Myles Kennedy 's voice is known in rock as the vocalist for Alter Bridge, Slash , and more recently, in his solo career. But the musician's talent isn't limited to one style – and his cover of "Shining Star," a hit by Earth, Wind & Fire , clearly demonstrates this.
In a remote session for the Couch Riffs , Kennedy joined Kathy Moore (Super Power Trio), Mike Squires (Loaded), Dennis Leeflang (Bumblefoot) , and singer Christa Wells for a cover of the track. The group's version respected the cheerful and catchy melody of the original, exploring various vocal ranges of Kennedy.
Founded in 1969, Earth, Wind & Fire blends different musical styles, such as funk, soul, disco, and R&B. "Shining Star," part of the album That's The Way of the World , was released in 1975.
