Myles Kennedy , vocalist for Alter Bridge and Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators , also has a side project as a solo artist. In May of this year, the singer released his second album, The Ides of March , and is currently on tour.
In a recent conversation on Andy Hall , the musician was asked if he's considering leaving bands and focusing solely on his solo career at some point. “I think, to a certain extent, a band environment will always be something I'm a part of. I think once you – if you're lucky enough to have a successful album, the more so [pursue a solo career]…”, he began (via Ultimate Guitar ). “These bands I work with, you know, to completely turn my back on that, I don't know if I want to do that because you have bands that you've built up along the way.”
Even without intending to abandon such important projects in his career, Kennedy admits that there is a great challenge in balancing the demands of each band and still having a personal life.
“For me, it’s just a matter of how to balance things to move forward. I feel like I’m in a unique situation where I can go out with Alter Bridge, Slash and the Conspirators, and now with the solo album. And I have people interested in hearing the body of work,” he explained. “So, it’s just a matter of how you keep moving forward and also balance family life, [so] you’re not on the road all the time. So that’s the question for me, it’s just how to be better at balancing everything so that I’m not away 300 days a year because I’m in three different bands.”
Recently, Slash announced the release of his next studio album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for 2022 on the Gibson label.
