The partnership between Myles Kennedy and Slash began with two guest appearances on the guitarist's first solo album 11 years ago. Since then, the supergroup formed alongside The Conspirators has released three albums – and is preparing to release their fourth album in 2022.
In a recent interview on the Talkin' Rock With Meltdown , transcribed by Ultimate Guitar , Alter Bridge vocalist said he's still surprised when he realizes how long and significant Slash has been working as an artist.
“It happens [that I get fascinated], and not so much in the studio. I don’t want to give too many details, but I was having a problem with my wrist and was going to the physiotherapist,” Kennedy recounted. “I was sitting in the office and the radio was on, and ‘Paradise City’ started playing.”
At that unusual moment, Myles Kennedy was surprised to have a partnership of over a decade and several albums with the musician behind that solo. “I was like, ‘Wow, did you know I made albums with this guy?’,” he recounted. “There are these moments when you realize, like, ‘How did all this happen? This is incredible.’ It was funny because [the doctor] was taking care of my hand and I was completely amazed. Slash was about 21 years old when he recorded that solo at the end and it blows everything away! It’s sensational, he had that magic factor from the beginning.”
