Michael Geoffrey “Mick” Jones was born on June 26, 1955, in Wandworth, London, England, the son of Tommy Jones, a Welshman married to the Russian Renee Zegansky.

The guitarist, always a lover of music, formed two bands: The Delinquents and London SS , but neither achieved the success he found alongside Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon when they founded The Clash .

During his seven years with The Clash, the guitarist was responsible for creating classics and helped the group grow and become one of the biggest rock bands. In 1983, Jones was fired from the group and since then has participated in various projects such as Big Audio Dynamite with Don Letts , toured with Gorillaz , collaborated with The Wallflowers , and continues to this day to celebrate good old rock and roll.

To celebrate Jones' career, we've compiled a selection of the guitarist's best songs from his time making history with The Clash. Check out our list below and let us know in the comments which ones we missed.
