The material was recorded during the period when the vocalist was not with The Clash.

Joe Strummer became known for his work with The Clash, but the singer had an extensive career outside the band, in side projects and also as a solo artist.

To celebrate Strummer's legacy, Ignition Records announced that it will release a compilation titled Joe Strummer 001 on September 28th. It will include tracks from The 101ers, the band he was in before The Clash, as well as songs he wrote for the films Sid & Nancy, Walker, A Permanent Record, and I Hired a Contract Killer.

In addition, a full album of previously unreleased tracks will also be part of the box set. It will include a demo of "This Is England" by The Clash, a solo demo of "Letsagetabitarockin," and the previously unreleased "Rose Of Erin," which was recently released and you can listen to it below.

The song was originally written for the film When Pigs Fly (1993) by Sara Driver, and although the song was played in the film, it was never officially released as a soundtrack.

In the box set, fans will receive vinyl records, a 64-page hardcover book, cassette tapes, posters, and other collectible items. The work is already available for pre-order on Joe Strummer's official website.

Joe Strummer passed away on December 22, 2002, due to a congenital heart defect.
