Metallica performed at Lollapalooza Chicago last Thursday, the 28th, and closed the night in a unique way. The band chose "Master of Puppets" to end the show and projected a scene of Eddie Munson , a character from Stranger Things, onto the screen.

Competing with “Enter Sandman” as the main closing song for Metallica’s current tour, “Master of Puppets” is experiencing a moment of rediscovery after the song was used in an epic Netflix scene. Since then, the title track from the band’s 1986 album has gained an official lyric video and entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time .

Metallica supports fans who came from Stranger Things.

The song's popularity managed to bother some of Metallica's older fans , who feared a "fad" surrounding the most commercially successful metal band in history, and the band members themselves responded in support of the newcomers. "You all started from scratch someday," they posted on social media .

Furthermore, Metallica is promoting "Master of Puppets" as part of the Stranger Things , and the band even did a "duet" on social media with the beloved character Eddie Dungeons & Dragons club from the series, called the Hellfire Club. Watch it here .
