With a newly released album , Megadeth completed an extensive North American tour in 2022. In a new behind-the-scenes video, Dave Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Recorded in April of last year, the video was published by Professor Reginaldo “Reggie” Almeida , originally from Ceará, who teaches in Tennessee, in the United States, and accompanies the band on tour as a private instructor.
After showing off the size of the band's concert arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reggie is shown teaching some specific self-defense and double attack techniques to the duo of musicians, with Mustaine actively helping Kiko, who is still a beginner and holds a white belt in the sport, with the lesson.
According to the website Blabbermouth , Dave Mustaine has held a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since October of last year, which is the final ranking before the highest level of black belt.
The achievement came just months after the Megadeth frontman earned his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu . According to Professor Almeida, the vocalist and guitarist held a blue belt for two years.
In Jiu-Jitsu, a fighter starts with a white belt and progresses through blue, purple, brown, and finally, there are various black belt levels.
