Matt Cameron commented on the status of his career after his departure from Pearl Jam in a new social media post.
On July 7th, the drummer announced his departure from Pearl Jam after 27 years playing with the group. The drummer, who has been in the band since 1998, announced his departure through a post on Instagram.
Matt said: “After 27 fantastic years, I’ve taken my final steps on drums for the mighty Pearl Jam. Much love and respect to Jeff, Ed, Mike and Stone for inviting me to the band in 1998 and for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, full of friendships, talent, challenges and laughter. I am eternally grateful to the crew, staff and fans worldwide. It has been an incredible journey. More to come. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Peace and Love, Matt Cameron.”
However, in an Instagram story , Cameron revealed that his career is not over: "Thank you for the kind words of support and, for the record, I am still an active musician."
Some fans have questioned whether Cameron will rejoin the Foo Fighters , given that the group parted ways with drummer Josh Freese earlier this year. As of now, there has been no official statement.
