' final days Taylor Hawkins were the subject of a article Rolling Stone, which spoke with friends of the Foo Fighters and offered an alarming perspective: the musician seemed tired and dissatisfied with the band. However, interviewees Chad Smith and Matt Cameron accuse the magazine of distorting the information.

According to the publication, the Foo Fighters' touring schedule was a source of discontent and frustration with close friends, including a conversation with Dave Grohl, information denied by band representatives.

According to Rolling Stonedrummer Chad Smith Red Hot Chili Peppersrecounted an incident in which Hawkins fainted during a tour: “He just said he was exhausted and passed out, and they had to give him a lot of injections and stuff. He was dehydrated and all that.” Furthermore, Hawkins reportedly confessed to his friend after the incident, “I can’t do this anymore,” he allegedly said.

In a social media post, Smith accused the article of sensationalism. “Taylor was one of my best friends and I would do anything for his family. Rolling Stone asked me to share some memories of our time together, which I thought would be a loving tribute he deserved. Instead, the story they wrote was sensationalist and misleading, and if I had known, I never would have agreed to participate. I apologize to his family and musical friends for any pain this may have caused,” he said.

drummer Matt Cameron Pearl Jamalso claims the magazine took his statements out of context. In the article, Matt's account reinforces the idea of a Taylor Hawkins unhappy with the Foo Fighters' tour schedule and planning to slow down: "He had a frank conversation with Dave and, yes, he told me he 'couldn't do this anymore' – those were his words. So I think they came to an understanding, but it seems the tour schedule got even crazier after that." The band's representatives denied any such conversation.

In a statement on social media last Tuesday, the 17th, Cameron addressed the situation. “When I agreed to be part of the story, I thought it would be a celebration of his life and work. My words were taken out of context and shaped into a narrative that was not my intention,” he wrote. “I apologize for participating in this story and that it may have caused pain to those for whom I have only the deepest respect and admiration.”
