Mark Morton even spoke with Slash about a possible appearance on the album

Mark Morton , guitarist for Lamb of God , wanted Slash to participate in his solo album Anesthetic .

“I’m friends with Slash and we’ve talked a few times,” Morton said in an interview with RockSverige . “He’s a Lamb Of God fan, as far as I know. I corresponded with him enough to feel comfortable asking if I could send him a song. He replied, ‘Yes, I’ll consider it. I’m busy, but if I find some time, send me the track and let me listen to it and we’ll go from there.’”

So, Morton cut a solo from the song that he was going to send to Slash. “It turns out it was a solo I really loved, so I never sent the song to him. [Laughs] That's what happened. Not that I'm better than Slash. He's one of my favorite guitarists. I love, love Slash and Guns N' Roses . But I had a moment of inspiration with the solo and I didn't want to get rid of it. I never sent the email.”
