The Brazilian band Maestrick has a new lineup. To give fans a Christmas present, the progressive metal group took advantage of the official arrival of Guilherme Carvalho , their new guitarist, to perform a grandiose cover of "It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas".
The Christmas classic was written in 1951 by American composer Meredith Willson . Over the last seven decades, the song has been covered by artists of different styles around the world, with Michael Bublé .
“We aim to create music with all the elements that the audience enjoys most in Maestrick: authenticity, well-crafted instrumentation, grand vocal harmonies, and fun,” comments vocalist Fábio Caldeira .
The special cover was recorded by Maestrick during the songwriting and pre-production sessions for the album Espresso Della Vita: Lunare , the second part of the album Espresso Della Vita: Solare (2018), scheduled for release in 2022.
Guitarist Carvalho has already performed with the band at shows for their second album, but only now has he officially taken on the role, actively participating in the creation of the group's next project.
“Guilherme possesses technical and creative characteristics that perfectly fit with Maestrick's DNA. His arrival brought just the right amount of brilliance and innovation to our compositions,” explains bassist Renato Montanha .
