Gutterdämmerung is scheduled to premiere in 2016.
Lemmy and Tom Araya are the latest names confirmed for the production of Gutterdämmerung , a feature film that has already earned the nickname 'the loudest silent film in the world'. From the mind of Swedish director Bjorn Tagemose, the film portrays a universe where sin no longer exists, as the "Holy Grail" of sin, a guitar, has been taken from the hands of man. Thus, the world has become a puritanical place, with no room for sex, drugs, and Rock n' Roll.
According to the production, Lemmy will portray a cavalry general and Araya will be a messenger of darkness. The film will also feature Henry Rollins, Jesse Hughes, and Iggy Pop.
The film's official description explains the sound: "In keeping with the tradition of classic Hollywood films of the 1920s, the film is almost silent, but instead of a piano there will be a rock band to express emotions while special effects explode on the screen."
A film tour with a live rock band will begin in early 2016.
