Klaus Meine , lead singer of Scorpions , has collaborated occasionally with other artists throughout his career, both within and outside the band, but has never dedicated himself to any solo projects.
In an interview with Scorpions Brazil , the singer compiled a list of impressive artists for a possible duets album, with his "great friend" Ronnie James Dio at the top of the list for a project without Scorpions.
“Unfortunately, some have already passed away, like my great friend Ronnie James Dio , he’s the first one that comes to mind, I would have loved to have done a duet with him,” he said. “Whenever we met in the United States or here in Germany, he was such a dear guy and we always said that we were the Everly Brothers of the 1980s (…). When I met him, we would start singing immediately.”

The hypothetical project list also includes David Coverdale (Whitesnake) , Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) , Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) , and Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) . “It would be a cool duets album with all the great artists we listened to growing up and with whom we’ve shared the stage for so many years,” Meine noted.
In episode 323 of The Wikimetal Podcast , our editorial team celebrated Klaus Meine's birthday, who turned 73 on May 25th, and also the 38th anniversary of the release of Holy Diver , Dio's first solo album. Listen to or watch the podcast here!
