Hanneman's situation is "wait and see".

Slayer guitarist Kerry King commented on Jeff Hanneman's health.

Regarding the guitarist, who has been recovering from a spider bite for two years, King said that the band's schedule is open for him. "If he knocked on my door today and said he was okay, I'd tell him to come rehearse right away."

King said that when he called Gary Holt to play in the band, he warned him that the schedule would be unstable, as Hanneman's situation was "wait and see".

Regarding Slayer, King also said that he doesn't see any other band threatening their position. "First you have Maiden, Sabbath and Priest, and then Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament." For him, no other contenders have emerged for the throne.
