Kerry King explained the current situation of Slayer . According to the website Blabbermouth Q104.3 program , King revealed the reasons behind Slayer's upcoming reunion shows , five years after the band's farewell tour.
The performances will take place at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 22nd, and at Louder Than Life in Louisville on September 27th.
According to King, since the beginning of 2020, the band has been refusing offers for performances due to the pandemic. However, with the approach of the fifth anniversary of their last tour, they decided to accept a package of three commemorative shows.
King also emphasized that these events do not mark the permanent return of Slayer, further stating that there will be no new tours or studio recordings.
From the musician's point of view, these shows are like a celebration and a special moment for the fans, ensuring that there are no plans for future tours. "These are anniversary celebration shows," King stated, emphasizing that this will be the last opportunity for fans to see the band live.
